Happy Life
Marsa Alam
organizes excursions into the Egyptian Desert (with Bedouin guides) where you
can explore the local wildlife in a 4X4 vehicle or an adventurous camel ride
throughout the desert. You may as well travel to a Bedouin village for an
afternoon of shopping delights and to enjoy a traditional Bedouin lunch/dinner.
Wadi El Gamal
visit the valley of the camels
One of the most overlooked spots in Egypt is in the deep south - the
mountainous eastern desert . South of marsa alam lies the coastal opening to
the wadi al- Gimaal, an area rich in birdlife that extends 50 miles ( 80 km )
inland. Diving along the coastal road, you will come across the Stunning sight
of camels wandering by the mangroves on the beach. the camels belong to local
ababda tribesmen , who brand Them and let them graze freely , sometimes for
months on end . Sandy and is filled with narrow valleys dotted with acacias and
low grasses . the eastern desert is rocky rather than the eastern desert is
rocky rather than the entire region is also rich in minerals ; like mons
porphyrites and mons claudianus farther north , abandoned pharaonic and roman
mines can be found here , such as the emeralds (long since emptied out ) sits
atop a small hill the romans called mons emeralds ( long since emptied out )
sits atop a small hill the romans called mons smaraguds - mount emerald - and
you can easily climb to the top to look down the pit . other roman mining
colonies nearby are littered with pottery fragments , and the strack , haunting
landscape has a peaceful stillness to it . driving into the interior should not
be done without guides. |
